Beh, a parte che come ha spiegato Gionata proprio in questi giorni le differenze estetiche contano poco per determinare specie, sottospecie ecc, pero in queso caso le platynota mi sembrano relativamente diverse dalle elegans.

is just a meditation.
so this the question:
is horsfieldii a middle way between the common turtle and the Burmese Star?
as you can see from photo, horsfieldii has the nuchal scute as the common turtle; but has 23 marginals scute in total like the Burmese Star! not 24 as the common turle!!!??!!
tell me some more: i'm so curios about this!
i hope i've been clear and the question is not stupid.

Certo, che sia diversa non lo metto in dubbio, però considerarla una specie diversa mi sembra un tantino esagerato. Allora se la platynota è una specie a se stante non vedo perchè non lo debba essere la boettgeri rispetto alla hermanni..
