Molto bella e sembra che l'habitat ricreato non sia da meno

Spettacolare, davvero spettacolare!

è una bellissima specie,non ci sono parole per descriverla...stupenda e complimenti per l'habitat che gli hai creato sembra che stia davvero in natura in sud america.

Wow! non mi intendo di tarte acquatiche e palustri...ma questa è veramente particolare ..mai vista prima..

Io invece le vedo sempre al Tartabeach e me le fotografo ogni volta....specialmente le piccole sono incantevoli, hanno degli occhietti vispissimi!!!
Sono le uniche acquatiche che mi affascinano in modo particolare!!!

the animal changed the color of head in the last 10 days.
the size of the head is like other raniceps. this specimen is male of 17 cm.
as soon as possible i post many pics of new setup.
in this setup i keep also Platemys platycephala.

anche io sarei curioso sul setup, pensavo avessero esigenze diverse dalle platemys (ad esempio livello dell'acqua).

beh, no, non tanto diverse. FOrse il livello d'acqua perchè la taglia delle raniceps è superiore a quella della Platemys, ma comunque non amano così tanto nuotare. L'unica differenza, probabilmente (parlo senza aver avuto esperienza di raniceps, ma ho visto solo quelle da Andrea e una nasuta da un mio amico!), secondo me le raniceps sono molto più acquatiche. Le Platemys passano molto tempo sulla terra (molto umida!), tra il muschio e le foglie!
Andrea potrà dire effettivamente se le raniceps sono prevalentemente acquatiche, come immagino!

@Andrea: Thank you for your information! My raniceps also change colors when I put them in another tank. Also the head pattern fades and comes back some times.

@Tortugo: I know other keepers who have B. raniceps together with P. platycephala. Personally I think it is OK as long as the tank is deep enough for the raniceps to swim and with enough things to climb out for the Platemys. This can be a problem if you have adult raniceps because the females get 30cm SCL long which requires at least 40cm of water depth (which could be a problem for Platemys if they aren't used to it). On the other side a bigger land area is definitely positive for raniceps!

Allora come detto da Stephan e da Davide, non ci sono problemi a mantenere insieme raniceps e platemys. tutto dipende dal tipo di setup che si allestisce. se ci sono zone profonde e zone terrestri adeguate, le 2 specie convivono bene.
Considerate che nel mio caso, il setup allestito è 200x100 cm con una zona emersa centrale di 60x40 con sabbia, foglie, pesci, piante filtro e spot.

veramente una bella tartaruga...mi piacerebbe vedere la foto della vasca!

Infatti, una foto d'insieme non guasterebbe!
