Dear AleeHali,
As you can see, you are having high knowledge in Tortoises species, and I am realy very happy to communicate with you. I will do my best, Sir, to provide some of my "leucistic" or "yellow" Hermann's to you next spring surely. We will speak about it in time.
Anyway, to give more inormations to all other friends included in this dialogue, i.e. discusion - it is very easy to see the high difference between my giallo Hermann's and Hermann's from other origine.
As first, my yellow animals are not T. h. herzegoviensis, there are high difference in them. Animals of Adriatic cost origine (Croatia, Herzegovina, Montenegro, are smaller animals with much black coloration (over 50%) and they are never having light coloration. I will send pictures of my T. h. herzegoviensis, to you too, to see great difference.
Then, the difference between my yellow and Melnik light Hermann's are great, too. You can see on pictures, my giallo Hermann's are having not black marking of plastron. They are having zero of black color on plastron, but they are having red-rosa color on plastron. Yes, it is appearing as in albino animals. But, my yellows are not albino animals. They are having about 5% of black color on carapax, and of course, they are having black eyes.
Finaly, origine of my animals is south-
est of Serbia, the same origine as common T. h. boetgeri of mine. And, I am 100% sure, this color variation is not common in nature, maybe 5 from 1,000 animals, not more on it.
Yes, of course, the quantity of lighter animals in nature is bigger, i.e. up to 5% of them, and there are many different variations in color (I will send some pictures to see about it!). But, very light animals, as 5 heads in current posses of mine, are still very rare. Other light colored Hermann's are having black marking on plastron (all of them), 5 heads of mine are having zero on black on plastron!
All the best to all friend in Italy from Marco
